I spent the last week with another nasty cold and the distinct feeling that I need a better idea for the remaining gap in the chapter. So far, I have about a dozen A5 pages in scribbles, none of which ring "just right" to me.
I do believe it's a thing of image matching content - as in: there are specific plot details to be addressed and resolved in that part of the chapter, and the scene ideas I've come up with so far just don't work well as background for them - at such a moment, I typically toss the content of the "issue bit" into the garbage bin and declare the chapter done without it, but sadly, the planned plot details are required for the rest of the chapter (and thus the story) to make sense in plot and characterization.
Therefore, chapter 19 will require more time (and my muse a very nasty run-in with my left foot).

related side-note: having said that, it is entirely possible that my brain comes up with a solution within the next twelve hours.

unrelated side-note: I spent the last day (and part of this one) with uploading the first quarter of my Galaxy Rangers fics with their true publication dates on to the AO3. At least, I felt as if I were doing something useful with my clogged nose and headaches.

because an undetermined amount of scribbles (mostly belonging to the infamous "Desk sex") are cluttering up my desk, waiting for me to finish reinstalling and setting up my most needed programs after throwing a fresh version of its OS onto my system.
on the plus side: no more random reboots after 12 hours, a much clearer view on my tft (because the old graphics driver certainly was part of the problem(s)), and the jitter that forced me to turn off the touch-function of my graphics tablet most of the time seems to be gone, too.
on the down side: two days of boring computer routine, keeping me from writing on Desk sex!
